Evergreen Farmers' Market

Looking for things to do in Drayton Valley? The Evergreen Farmers' Market has been a local community favorite for 40 years. It was the first offering of the Drayton Valley & District Agricultural Society and is still the largest annual venture the society undertakes each year. The regular home of the Evergreen Farmers Market is the at the Mackenzie Center (5737 45 Ave) which takes place Wednesdays from 10:30 am-1:30 pm March through December. Our Christmas in September event will occur on September 29, 2018 from 10:30 am-3:00 pm and is the biggest and best one Drayton Valley has each year with over 100 Alberta crafters and food producers. Monthly Super Saturday's this year are January 27, February 24, March 31, April 14, May 12, June 16, August 18, September 29, October 13, November 10, December 15. Saturday markets go from 10:30 am-3:00 pm.

Fall Ag Fair & Bench Show August 18, 2018 

The Bench Show has also been part of the Ag Society annual events since the beginning. A Bench Show awards excellence in the Make it, Bake it, & Grow it categories. Art, photography, fruit, vegetables, baking, preserves, sewing, knitting, quilting, woodwork, hobbies and more are part of a fair event.  Bench Show will be August 18, 2018 in conjunction with the Farmers Market and Open Farm Days. Drop your entries off early Saturday morning between 8:30-10:00 am. Pre-do your tags to make registration easier. Follow the book guidelines which will be available at the Evergreen Farmers Market  in June and at Stitches & Dreams or Museum for a $2 fee. Contact us if you have an e-mail, and we will send you an e-copy of the book for your review. Cash awards are sponsored by community grants and ribbons are sponsored by the Ag Society. 

Adam Eckert was chosen as Best of Show for his Celtic Spoon carving. He was presented with a stained glass window in 2016. Susan Schwindt was the 2017 best of show winner for her quilt project.

Antique Tractor Pull-2018 New Date August 19 at the Lions Outdoor Rodeo Grounds:  Registration from 8:00 am-9:00 am -Pulls start at 10:00 am-12:00 pm

There is nothing that says "Farming" like an antique tractor pull! The Ag Society has had this family event for over 10 years using the Lions Outdoor Rodeo Grounds as the venue. This event has free admission and free entry. If you love tractors this is the place to be young or old!

The Ag Society is firm in its belief that investing in education for our youth will support agriculture in the future. Scholarships are in the amount of $500.00 and may be applied for in consecutive years or up to 4 years after graduation.

Please submit the application form along with the required documents to the Scholarship Committee by October 15 of each year for consideration. Awards will be given out at the Guitars & Denim Celebration. Tickets will be included with successful applications. Anyone not able to attend in person, please send a family representative to accept on your behalf. Please make that known on the application form if you attend school away and will not be able to make it.
